Look for profitable niches. What are consumers looking for? Ways to improve their lives. Sometimes they want to look and feel better. Others want to have the latest technology. Some want to save money. Now, how flooded is the market? There should be a demand. Too much demand? Then you must integrate a way to make yourself stand out from the crowd. Too little of a market could be a problem unless you have your eye on an up and coming new product that seems very profitable. Do you research before investing and spend wisely.
Do your research by going to search engines such as Google, Yahoo, MSN, Ask.com, and Dogpile. Don't forget to check the right hand columns for the advertisements too. Go to forums. See what others are talking about. When you join these forums first watch and listen to others and see how they discuss topics and how each forum is run. Then join in. Now you should have an idea of what your niche is going to be. Do you have your own product? Are you selling a service?
If you are selling a product you need to determine purchasing. If you have it as your own you can determine the pricing yourself. Always keeping in mind the costs associated in the manufacturing of the product. If you do not have a product you must then determine where you will purchase the product from. Can you buy as needed? Can you get a better price in bulk? Are there price breaks for purchasing it directly through the manufacturer or through a distributor? Look at many different angles.
If you are selling a service, look at other websites for what they offer. How can you improve upon what they are offering. Offer special deals and incentives. The same is true with selling products and websites. Always research other web pages. The top pages in search engines are the best to look at. See what they do and then capitalize upon it.
The most profitable niches are:

Believe it or not, it is possible for any person to make professional quality images from the most basic digital camera on the market. Of course in the hands of a professional, a top of the range Canon camera is going to take better pictures then a bottom of the range digital camera. However we are going to share some very useful tips with you which will actually enhance the quality of your photos and make people think that you are either a professional photographer, or have a $2000 digital camera, when that is probably not the case at all.
1. Changing the Tones
Do you notice that the pictures you take sometimes lack a crisp, smooth feel to them? This may be a result of the default white balance setting being set to automatic on the majority of digital cameras. Whilst this should be satisfactory for many of your snaps, you may find that it is not optimal for a significant proportion.
Therefore simply try adjusting this feature. Take some pictures in various circumstances with the feature on automatic, and then try adjusting through the various settings, you will find that the settings are adjustable for a reason and in some circumstances will enhance your picture.
2. Utilise Macro Mode
Some amazing pictures can be taken with the Macro mode, in particular you will find items with small details are very much suited to this style. Next time you have the opportunity try using Macro mode on a colourful flower and you will be amazed and the quality, this will work where the subject is isolated in a shot, because there is significant reduction in depth of field when using "macro" mode. Hence, just focus on the subject with the immense detail and let the surrounding of the image go soft, this actually gives a really good effect and a modern feel to your picture.
3. Take advantage of a Polarizing Filter
Want to give a significant enhancement to your photos? Then you need to get your hands on a polarizing filter, they give an amazing boost to picture quality and are very much suited to outside and landscape photos. A filter is useful for lowering glare and makes unwanted reflections obsolete. A Polarizing filter will give added effect to your colors.
This is great, but what if your camera does not support the use of a Polarizing filter, well there is a workaround and believe it or not it is as simple as using a pair of sunglasses. Simply put a pair of sunglasses as close to the lens as is possible. This does work and has been working for many people for years.
4. Unusual use of the Flash
Obvious question, but did you know that you can always have the flash on within your digital camera? This is important because you should be controlling what type of lighting you want for the picture. Do not let the camera take control. Again, extra experimentation with this feature can enhance your pictures.
A good technique is to put your subject (if a person) in the shade, so under a tree or behind a building etc away from the sun and set the flash, this will give you the same quality as natural light, however your subject will not have to embrace the sun by squinting etc.
5. Memory Cards
Even cameras with 5 mega pixels take great quality shots which use up a significant amount of memory, and now with digital cameras being able to feature 15 mega pixels you are assured that your memory will soon become depleted. As a result of this invest in some high storage memory cards and ensure you always have a spare on you.
Hopefully this article has given you some useful guidance. Now the rest is up to you, so start experimenting.

As a hardcore amateur photographer, I must admit I fell in love with the Canon cameras and wouldn't switch to anther manufacturer for anything in the world. I noticed I'm not the only one with this fetish, as I visited Disney World I noticed that PowerShots were the most common cameras. So here is my list of favorite Canon cameras. Any of these are excellent choices.
1. SD1100IS
Equipped with a 8MP image sensor, this baby offers great image stabilization, longer zoom level (38-114 mm) and a better design. It comes in colors and can be great gifts.
2. SD870IS
This model is the one for you if you want a wider-angle lens. Except the lack of the viewfinder, making it rather impossible to use in a bright light, you will simply love all its facilities.
3. SD770IS
This is supposed to be an update of the SD1100IS model, costs $50-ish more and doesn't come in colors. Other than longer battery lifetime I couldn't see any difference to its predecessor, hence I rated it lower.
4. SD950IS
With a titanium body and a 12.1 MP sensor, this camera is simply gorgeous. An unique function that comes out of the box is the ability to put together panoramic images. I haven't rated it higher because it is a bit too pricey for the functionalities it offers.
5. SD890IS
This one is the most expensive in the PowerShot ELPH series. It comes with a 10MP sensor and a whopping 5x optical zoom. So if you need a camera with a long zoom lens, then this is definitely the one for you.
6. SD790IS
I like the SD770IS model better than this one. The 790IS comes with 3x zoom lens and 10 megapixel sensor, which is quite normal for a 2009 camera. The downside is the lack of an optical viewfinder. The only thing that makes this camera stand out is perhaps the 3" LCD display.
7. SD1000IS
This model has been replaced by SD1100IS, which is on the very top of my preferences. It doesn't come with image stabilization, which I would consider an important feature. It's quite a nice camera, that's why I put it in this favorites list, but no longer worth buying: if you like it, get its successor!
Getting the perfect Canon camera, is never an easy thing, especially with the way digital technology is constantly changing. Fortunately, there are plenty of helpful websites online, that can narrow down your search and help you find the camera with all the features important to you.

If ever there was a controversial question amongst the hordes of digital camera enthusiasts, it has to be "What is the best digital camera brand?". Sometimes referred to as "What is the best brand of digital camera to buy?", but not to be confused with "What is the best camera to buy?". Because everyone knows that regular (film) cameras are far superior to digital cameras. Hang on a sec, or was that the other way around? Who can keep track these days? Now before I digress too far from the topic, lets take a look at that age old battle, and see if we can determine which brand is best.
First things first, in the spirit of full disclosure, I need to declare that I do in fact own several cameras. They represent a variety of brands. I have two Canons, a Fuji, and a Kodak. I must confess, that I am somewhat partial to Canon, but I'll try not to let that cloud any editorial comments I may subsequently make.
If digital camera sales were any indication of what the best brand was, then according to Amazon.com Canon would be a clear winner. As I write this, Canon manufactures 18 of the top 25 bestselling cameras on their best seller list. In addition, Canon holds 9 of the top 10 spots, with the top 3 being the PowerShot A570 IS, the PowerShot SD1000 Digital Elph, and the PowerShot SD850. Sharing the top 11 spots with Canon are 2 of the Pure Video manufactured Flip Video cameras. Nikon has 2 cameras in the top 25 including the Nikon D40, and the Nikon D300. Panasonic sneaks in with a couple of their Lumix models, specifically the DMC-TZ3K and the DMC-TZ3A. And finishing in a strong 25th spot, that old stalwart Kodak with the Easyshare Z812IS.
Of course being popular, or the best seller does not the best brand make. It simply means you have the best salesmanship. In that world, Canon seems to be having the most success. How exactly would we determine the best brand? Best service, best design, best features, best customer support, best images, and best user experience are all valid traits. Perhaps a critical / scientific /empirical examination of all cameras models by manufacturer would be in order. Let's see if we can aggregate a lot of the work already done by a couple of camera review sites who take the above traits into consideration.
A perusal of one top camera review site under their 5 star category, show 39 Canon cameras, 18 Sony cameras, 17 Nikon cameras, 6 Fuji cameras, 5 Olympus cameras, 5 Panasonic cameras, 3 Pentax cameras, and 1 Konica camera. A second camera review site under their top 103 cameras showed 46 Canon cameras, 21 Sony cameras, 20 Nikon cameras, 5 Pentax cameras, 3 Fuji cameras, 2 Samsung cameras, 2 Panasonic cameras, 2 Kodak cameras, 1 Konica camera, and 1 Casio camera. If you total all that up, the top 3 end up being Canon with 85, Sony a distant second with 39, and Nikon a very close third with 37. Everyone else had less than 10 top rated cameras.
Interesting huh? Canon seems to be dominating sales, and wowing the critics. That's a pretty strong one-two punch. The only reasonable conclusion here, is that Canon is the best overall brand out there. Of course I would never recommend anyone buy a camera based solely on brand. What I do suggest, is to do your homework by researching some good cameras. Once you've got your short list, and with everything else being equal, maybe then you should pick the Canon.

People ask me frequently about how to take a good snapshot. There are some pointers you should consider before you even pick up the camera. These ideas to can help anyone get the most out of his or her camera and photography experience, and they can help you. They sound simple and obvious but believe me, they are not. Just think of how many times you've said, "Darn! I wish I had my camera," or "Uh-oh, the battery is almost dead."
Excellent photos can be taken on almost any camera - it's not necessary to have a professional camera or a digital SLR or many types of lenses - a digital point and shoot will do just fine. The reason for this is that the eye of the photographer is the most important component of a good photo. When I know I am taking photos, I have my Canon EOS30D, but I always have my digital Canon Elph with me. It's old, and the reload time between photos is slow, but it's an excellent camera.
To take good photos, you must have your camera available. I can imagine you saying, "Duh. Of course." If your purpose is simply to take family photos at an event, or document your trip to Disneyland, for example, then you will have your camera with you. But if you are interested in documenting the world around you, or you need a photo of that cat or dog or child, you must carry a camera at all times. A small digital point-and-shoot will easily fit in a purse or pocket. Sound like trouble? Think of the times you've thought, I wish I had my camera with me. I always have my digital Elph.
Having your camera with you won't help if your battery is dead. Buy a second battery, keep it charged and in your purse or pocket and you'll never be caught short. When traveling, I also take a second memory card because even though I upload to my laptop every night, I want my photos in more than one place. I don't want to have to erase a memory card until I'm home.
If you are photographing something important, have your photos in more than one place. First, the memory card of your camera; second, download to your computer daily; third, consider uploading to a site like Kodak Easyshare or Shutterfly; and fourth - not just for photos - back up your computer on an external hard drive. Then, if you lose your camera, your photos will already be on your computer. If you have erased your memory card and your computer crashes, you will have your photos on an online site; and for good measure, they'll be on your external hard drive.
Go digital. I am not a purist - I can't afford to be. New technology isn't going anywhere, and unless you are a serious amateur or professional who uses film for a specific reason, digital is the way to go. I don't have the time to work in a darkroom, I wouldn't be able to process color at home anyway, and I can't afford to take film and hope the photos turn out. It's expensive. Using digital you can take 500 photos and delete 475 and you haven't lost anything.
Your photography experience will be much more exciting if you are prepared. So carry that camera all of the time, have a second charged battery with you, and store your photos in more than one place. With that under control, you can work on developing your eye.

Last week we went on a hike up one of the local trails in Lake Tahoe. I left the SLR at home and brought my compact digital camera along. Half way up the mountain we encountered a bear. I got the camera out and captured a couple of photos before he ran off into the woods.
When I got home, I zoomed in and cropped the picture but the image turned out too pixelated. My 2 year old digicam didn't have enough pixels to go around. The higher your cameras resolution, the more flexibility you have later editing your image. So now I’ve been shopping for a new compact digicam with at least 7 mega pixels. Here are my 5 top picks.
1) Casio Exilim EP-Z750 Digital Camera Review
The 7.2MP EP-Z750 is the smallest, lightest and thinnest camera in the group. It doesn’t look big enough to have 7.2 mega pixels but it does! The back of the camera is almost all LCD screen, 2.5” worth, it’s extra large, ideal for composing and viewing your shots. It has a 3x zoom with anti-shake and 30 scene modes compared to the usual 8 or 12 on most digicams, plus you can make up your own too. Being this small you would figure that there couldn’t possibly be any manual controls, but you’d be wrong. The EP-Z750 has aperture, shutter priority and full manual settings which are all quick and easy to navigate. You get the hang of it real quickly. The quality of the photos you take with the Casio Exilim are surprisingly excellent with dynamic colors. The Casio Exilim Ep-Z750 view finder is quite small, thank you for the big LCD screen. It’s got a quality 640x480 movie mode at 30 frames per second. Weight 4.5 oz.
2) Nikon Coolpix 7900 Digital Camera Review
The 7.1MP Coolpix 7900 is small, light and easy to use and like the Casio camera reviewed above, can be considered an ultra compact. It’s large, bright 2” LCD display is perfectly visible outdoors in the sun. Unlike the Casio, it has a bulge where the battery goes forming a grip which makes it easy to hold. But that adds to its overall thickness. The Nikon Coolpix 7900 has a 3x optical zoom, a large battery capacity for taking hundreds of pictures, and a good flash. 640x480 movies at a full 30fps and Nikon's new Face Priority autofocus will automatically detect a face in the portrait and focus on it. The Coolpix has D-Lighting that lightens the dark areas. Somehow they also found room to squeeze in vibration reduction. The Nikon 7900 uses scene modes and there’s one for almost every occasion, they’re easy to use and work very well. The 7900 doesn’t have manual control. The Nikon Coolpix 7900 is a small easy to use point and shoot camera with high-resolution. Weight 5.3oz
3) Canon PowerShot SD550 Digital Camera Review
The 7.1MP SD550 is an attractive, lightweight, thin, ultra-compact unit with an extra large 2.5” LCD screen and optical viewfinder. It uses 13 shooting modes including auto and manual. The PowerShot has a 3x zoom, equivalent to 37-111mm. This camera is fast! Shooting 2 photos per second till you use up all your memory. The speed of the auto focus is also significantly improved over earlier ELPH’s. Canon has put the new DIGIC II Processor in and its images are excellent. The movie mode is 640x480 at a nice 30 frames per second. Of course it’s PictBridge compatible and has a good flash. This is a solid performer with point and shoot ease. The Canon SD500, the SC550’s sibling is the same camera for $50 less with a 2” LCD screen. Weight 6.08oz.
4) Olympus C-7000 Zoom Digital Camera Review
The 7.1MP, C-7000 is a very good looking compact digital camera with solid performance. Zoom is in the name, because this beauty has a 5x optical zoom, and a 6x digital zoom with the 35mm camera equivalency of a 39mm-190mm lens. This makes getting candid people shots easier, you don’t need to get as close to your subject, just use your zoom to get in. The Olympus C-7000 Zoom has a large 2” LCD that is excellent even outside. You're not going to make a feature length movie with it however, because it takes 20 second clips at 30fps. The pop-up flash works good and easy to read menus make the C-7000 fairly easy to navigate. It has the new Olympus TruePic Turbo Image Processor for fast cycle times and excellent details. The C-7000 Zoom has 11 shooting modes plus manual operation. It’s PictBridge Compatible for easy printing without a computer. This little Oly is tough to beat with it’s powerful zoom, small size and high resolution. Weight 7.07oz
5) Sony CyberShot DSC-W7 Digital Camera Review
The 7.2 MP DSC-W7 is bigger than the ultra compact Casio Exilim its considered a compact digital camera. In traditional Sony style, this small camera is well thought out and easy to use everyday. Its got a viewfinder and a really big 2.5” LCD display that’s nice for viewing and composing your shots. The 3x optical zoom lens is a Carl Zeiss equivalent to a 28-114mm lens. No expensive batteries to buy ever, it comes with 2 AA rechargeable batteries. The Sony CyberShot has an extremely quick start up time and fast recycle time. The DSC-W7 uses the memory stick format and has a an internal memory of 32MB. A manual mode with aperture and shutter speed controls with a photo exposure preview. Your also hooked up with an excellent movie mode with good sound just what you’d expect from Sony. The Sony CyberShot DSC-W7 is a very nice camera that takes good hi-resolution pictures and is easy to use. Weight 6.90 0z.
You will notice that I haven't put any prices here, because they seem to change by the day. Check our site for up-to-date price comparisons. Even pros have circumstances when a compact digicam is appropriate. These digicams are for everybody. Make your choice based on features that fit your shooting style. You will love the photos from all the cameras here. Spend the little bit extra on a 7MP camera and always use the highest resolution setting your camera has, because every picture you take is worth more than money.

The selection and quality available in small digital cameras has never been better. And they keep improving every day.
When cameras that used digital format first came out, they were very expensive, and they were relatively large compared to many of today's models. These cameras use an image sensor in order to capture image data and save it to the camera so you can instantly see the photos that you have taken, as well as transfer them to computers and printers. These days it is possible to get small cameras that work extremely well for between $200 and $600. Which of these compact type cameras is the best for you will depend on which features you find the most important.
Choosing the best camera for you from among the small cameras available will take some research. First you will have to decide which features are most important to you. Do you want to have a high resolution, a very compact camera, a good optical zoom, or some of the special features like smile recognition that some of the cameras offer?
Most compact cameras are point and shoot type cameras, although there are a few that have the option to manually change the settings. These are best for amateur photographers rather than professionals. Then you will need to decide what price range you are comfortable with in order to help you narrow down your options. There are numerous websites available with reviews that you can use to get a better idea of the pros and cons of each camera that you are considering.
For those that want to get a compact camera that will let them take quality digital photos for less than $200, one of the better options is the Kodak EasyShare M1093 IS. This is a 10 megapixel camera with a short shutter delay, a 3 inch LCD screen, and a 3x optical zoom.
If you would prefer a really slim camera, the Sony Cyber-Shot T900 is one of the options you should consider. It is only a half inch thick, and very light. It has a touch screen for controls, 12.1 megapixels, and a 4x optical zoom. It does have a relatively short battery life though, so you might want to purchase an extra battery or two to have on hand.
One of the more popular options for people looking for small digital cameras is the Canon Powershot ELPH line of digital cameras. The Canon PowerShot SD1200 IS (also called the Canon IXUS 95 IS) is the latest in this line. It is an ultra compact camera with a 3x optical zoom, 10 megapixels, and a 2.5 inch LCD screen. It also comes with image stabilization and face recognition technology.
Another popular series for compact cameras is the Nikon CoolPix series, including the Nikon CoolPix S70. The CoolPix S70 has a 3.5 inch LCD screen with touch screen controls, 12.1 megapixels, image stabilization and a 5x optical zoom. It is also one of the smaller cameras, measuring 3.8 inches wide, 2.4 inches long, and.8 inches thick. There are some cool features available with this camera, including the ability to tap on a subject to focus and shoot rather than always having to use the shutter button. The battery needs to be charged in the camera however, so you will want to have an extra battery.
Small digital format cameras continue to improve in quality. As technology continues to move forward, small sized digital point and shoot and sub sized cameras are gaining features and picture quality that only their big brothers, the DSLR's, had at one time. Check out the various mini digital cameras and slim digital cameras and after a little research you'll easily be able to find one that meets your needs and your budget.
Digital cameras keep getting smaller and smaller but the quality photos you can take just gets better. Visit us for more information on various mini digital cameras and small digital cameras. These small and slim digital cameras are easy and fun to use.
