Why Do Girls Buy Pink Gadgets?

Wondering why suddenly companies manufacturing gadgets and electrical appliances started coming out with pink versions of product? Let's take this as another way - whom do you associate pink color with? The answer is one and same - girls. It has always known that the girls are mostly lukewarm to accepting pink gadgets. Prior to that, it was really difficult to tempt the female segment, the owner of huge disposable income for technological products.

Until recently the colour choices for products were very narrow starting from black and ending at nothing more than silver. However, today most practical products are now available in pink version. We can see why companies like Nokia, Motorola and dell suddenly started inundating markets with more colour choices.

It seems as if the marketers have reached the crux of marketing by adhering to most important driver of product life cycle i.e fashion. It is no second thought that majority of girls prefer to buy pink to any other colour. This can be rationalised partly by cultural influences and partly by nature instilled by hormones. Girls always prefer pink and boys go for blue.

Still there are no clear answers to it as still some scientists have attempted for scientific explanation. Take for instance the authors from the University of Newcastle Upon Tyne, UK who based on recent study held genetic reason responsible for choices. However they didn't rule out the cultural influences instead they said "that women's vision developed in order for them to identify ripe fruit such as red berries".

So now if you are thinking of buying gadgets and finding yourself a bit perplexed by the technical information, would you still go by your natural instinct and pick a pink one or you are going to consider those bewildering tech specs?
